  • What should I do when I accept a foster placement?
When the home finder calls you about a child or children, be sure to ask if they will be arriving with their belongings. They might be coming from another foster home and have quite a lot, or they might be part of an emergency removal and have hardly anything. Also ask about clothing sizes and diaper sizes (if applicable). Next, call Angela at Foster Blessings to set up a free pizza delivery for the night the children arrive. You can focus on getting them settled and not have to worry about dinner! Then, call Emily to schedule a "shopping" time for Tiny Threads!
  • Who can shop at Tiny Threads?
Foster families who live in (or near) Dutchess County, NY who have a new foster placement.
  • Do I need an appointment to "shop" at Tiny Threads?
Yes! The closet is run by real-life busy moms. Call to find the best time that works for both of you.
  • What items can I get from Tiny Threads?
Everything is based on donations, so the items available are subject to change. Generally, we have clothes, pajamas, diapers, baby gear and other odds and ends. We will also give you two ready-to-go freezer meals along with paper goods to make cooking easy for your first few nights. We also have coffee care packages from Pawling Coffee Roaster!
  • What should I do with the clothes if the child/ren leave my home?
All clothes that are given to foster children now belong to them and should be sent along with them if/when they leave.
